Jakub Hrůša first conducted Má vlast at the Prague Spring Festival in , with the PKF – Prague Philharmonia. This time he will stand at the helm of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. Its choice has not been caused only by Hrůša´s being the orchestra´s chief conductor since , and by their recent common recording of Má vlast.

Smetana: Má vlast – Direct-to-disc recording, Limited edition – Bamberger Symphoniker, Jakub Hrůša If any orchestra has the right to claim Smetana’s symphonic cycle “Má vlast” (My Country) as their own, it is the Bamberg Symphony under the baton of its music director Jakub Hrůša.
