Ray Charles' Live In Concert and Ray Charles and Betty Carter Also Available on g LP from Analogue Productions. It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing. And Ray Charles’ Genius + Soul = Jazz swings like the dickens.

Genius+Soul=Jazz itself is an acclaimed classic, one of the great albums in the Ray Charles catalogue. With Ray's organ front and center, Charles reinforces the gospel connection both to soul and jazz, gospel being the key influence in the style of jazz that came about around the same time as Charles' soul music, the hard bop of the mids/5(6).

It reached No. 2 on the R&B chart, then called the Most-Played Juke Box Race Records.
